Some of the suggestions that people make to me concerning the game seem to occur with regular frequency, and rather than make the same responses over and over, I thought I would put together a list of suggestions I have received for Decker and whether or not I plan to implement them. - Selling programs or source code I do not plan on ever implementing this. The reason for this is that it would be too easy for the player to abuse. Since you can compile the same source code and name it anything you want, what would prevent the player from selling their programs repeatedly? In game terms, the programs that are sold at the shop are marketed by respected, and more importantly - trusted, hacking organizations. Most hackers would not trust buying a program from Joe Blow off the street because he could be a coorp guy selling programs designed to help track the hacker. - Meeting other hackers in the matrix I may implement this one eventually. There are several problems with this, though. The main problem is how to design the AI for the hacker. What will he do? How does he react? Also, what skills do we design for him? This is a far-in-the-future addition that will take a great deal of design. - Multiplayer Nope. I just don't think that Decker is the kind of game that lends itself to multiplayer. It's a turn-based RPG, not a FPS. There are just too many problems with this. - Plots/Story I have created several sub-plots, but I moved away for a while. The main reason is that the missions were still standard ones. I want to add more variety to the missions for scripted missions. This is something that will definately be done in the future, but I don't know when. - Break into any system in the net without a contract I can see the desire to do this, but here are the problems: First, the game is designed around a contract-system pairing. I could get around this, but I will have to work on it a little first. Second, from a game standpoint, hacking into various systems as a thief would likely cause the corporations to take notice. A little data theft is expected, but a lot can't be overlooked. Again, this will probably be implemented eventually, but I have to do some design on it first to make sure it works well with the current system. - Multiple contracts simultaneously I can see what would be nice about this, but it would be a major headache to redesign, just as above. I may put this in eventually, but it would take a lot of work. Don't hold your breath. - Custom character images This will go in eventually, as soon as I figure out the best way to do it. - 3D Get real. Games don't automatically get better when you make them in 3D. Pac-Man in 3D is still just Pac-Man. - More varied mission objectives I would like to see this too. Any suggestions? (Feasible, please.)
